Raced the Bloodrunner100 today at Moon Rocks.
Glue and I had a great time you guys sure missed out on the best ride ever! We went up saturday night and got shitty and lost money at the casinos. Then we woke up at 6 and got out to the race by 8:30 got Elmer all signed up had the riders meeting and was off to the starting line. Gunshot BOOM! the pros took off, one minute later BOOM! we were off, I was doing great avoided the pile up at the hole shot cornner and was only behind one rider I was feeling really good holding my postition and about 4 miles into the race I got major arm pump and sloopy I guess riding the outside line to avoid the BIG woops well, my rear tire fell into a one and threw me over the bars luckly I landed in some brush etc. It shook me up a bit and took a few minutes to get going again as I was regrouping I got passed by like 50 riders wich sucked bigtime. Now I had to pass these guys alot of them are bad riders and are all over the place making it hard to pass without killing myself. Made it 30 miles to the pits to GAS UP.

I took off again for the remainder of the lap (26 miles) and was doing great few miles later I stalled my bike when I ran into a bush and I smelled something burning. I look down to find oil spuing out, when I crashed earlier I cracked and punched a big hole in my pos clutch cover. So I pulled off the course and was'nt sure what to do. I sat there for a minute thinking that I was screwed then remembered that I had a few latex gloves and some electrical tape. I was'nt sure how much I oil had lost because I crashed 10 miles back, but dammit I wanted my finishers pin so I cleaned it the best I could shuved some latex glove into the cracks and hole then taped the shit out of it. I made the last 20 miles and finished. When I got home I drained my tranny and had 1/2 a quart left so hopfully I'm ok.

I see you remembered the gas this time. Hows your girl doing? Is she going to make it for a ride this weekend?
Yes I did! I will always race my own race for now on.. only reason I ran out was I didnt want to lose the guys infront of me so when they took off after going through the check point I followed forgeting all about gas... live and learn

Yo Wide, here is your 2001 CR500 your looking for. To be honest your a great rider, but I think a 500 is too much for you. Its great for the sand and hill climbs, but it too much GO for the tight woods/trails we ride..Id keep that clean RM if I were you..

Here is some helmet cam footage of the start from Sundays bloodrunner race. I'm the guy in the far left, 2nd postion at the hole shot so I missed the pile up behind me.. I will add more footage just as soon as he gets it to me.

Ya you need tire irons! You will only pop your new tube using screwdrivers!
Moonrocks is in Reno it will be the best ride of the year!

If your RM is having idle problems pull the pilot jet and clean it, also check your mix.

I just took the carb off and cleaned it and the owner before Wide took the time to rejet according to MotoTassanari website. They spent about $100 bucks with jetting and a new slide. The oem slide is 6.5 and they changed it to 7.0 as recommended so Ill tinker with the idle tomorrow.

man you guys are kool as shit thanx for helping me out....well i got the bike over there thats said and done....and felix hey man i have no problem with you taking it out to the feild....just dont blow it up and hose her off when your done but when you first start it you will hear the kick starter hit the rear brake lever and the foot peg makes a noise no big deal just to let you know and when shes not warmed up when you first put it in first it sounds ruff and kinda klink sound and almost jumps forward alittle and the clutch is a little funny when cold but once its warmed up it runs fine maybe you will see what i'm talking about and know whats up with it...but i just put fresh motul expert oil in it before i droped it off and i didnt clean the air filter because it wasnt bad didnt need to be cleaned but it might if you go rip it out in the feild? i dont know it depends...but like i said at your house to me the bike has no ballz at all...but the cr250 i just sold had hella nut but anyways you said rm's are toned down..so it not bad its still fun...and honestly dud i got it off of took good care of it for real and put good money in it too...its a good solid bike...my "shop" is so empty with not even 1 bike in it.....thats sad..lol i dont even wanna go in there...theres too much room with no toys its not right...

Well I just took the bike out and it now idles no problem. However I did notice, warm or cold, the clutch will not disengage when you come to a stop unless you blipp the throttle right before you stop. This could be due to a worn clutch, clutch works fine and does not slip though, or it could be that the clutch basket fingers are scored and are causing the clutch plates to stick. I would not know unless I took it apart. Bike runs great though.

good shit.......ya i dont know what the deal is with the clutch...works good for the most part...

easy fix... would only take 30 mins to inspect it if the basket has any groves I have a dremal grinder wheel that works great to remove them, then install a new clutch pack and its like new again.

Well I just checked your clutch and you have an aftermarket billet clutch boss and everything looks good with no scaring. I even miked your friction plates at 3.01mm and the wear limit is 2.92 - 3.08 so the clutch sticking is not from wear. I did notice however that your steels were a dark blue with rainbows around the plates from heat.

What you dont see is that the bike is laying on its side so the oil does not come out.
